WESTMOUNT’s annual vanity fair:
“The “Victoria Village Art Walk” is an outdoor event in Westmount with the objective to enhance appreciation and understanding of the visual arts while encouraging the public to purchase original art from local artists”.
So I went there-and wasted my time. I did not see “art” (with one or two exceptions). All I saw was an event sustained by the mutual admiration of its participants and the exigency of talent . I saw works so dilettantish that it insulted my senses and made me flee the scene.
dilettante: a person who cultivates an area of interest, such as the arts, without real commitment or knowledge (or talent)
